Blacksburg, Virginia, April 20, 2017Blacksburg Fork & Cork announces an impressive line-up of culinary talent.  The US Foods Chef Showcase will feature award-winning local culinarians. The Beliveau Estate Winery Wine 101 tent will feature educational sessions with regional wine experts. In addition, some of the NRV’s best restaurants will be selling menu favorites. With all of these features, foodies of all ages will be in culinary heaven!

The Blacksburg Partnership will also host the 7th annual CanDo! canned food drive at Blacksburg Fork & Cork on Saturday, April 29. Festival attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items on the approved list below to benefit Micah’s Backpack.

  • 100% Juiceboxes
  • Chicken or vegetable soup 10.75 oz
  • Fruit cups (in juice or lite syrup)
  • Canned Pasta (max 14.75 oz)
  • Individual Mac n Cheese cups
  • Oatmeal (box with individual packages)
  • Small canned vegetables
  • Peanut Butter (max 10.75 oz)
  • Tuna 5 oz

Donations are encouraged and will be accepted at the entrance of Blacksburg Fork & Cork. Festival attendees will receive a coupon for $1 off of a bottle of wine with any donation of three or more items, adding even more reason to contribute to a great cause.

“Being able to partner with Micah’s Backpack for the 7th year in a row is something that we are very excited about,” said Diane Akers, President of the Blacksburg Partnership. “We are thrilled to be able to make a difference in something that continues to be a growing need in our community. We hope that many of our festival attendees will take the time to donate.”

Blacksburg Fork & Cork and the CanDo! food drive will be held 1600 Innovation Drive in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center, on Saturday, April 29 from 1pm – 6pm, with access for premium and VIP ticket holders beginning at Noon. This is a rain or shine event.

NEW! Premium tickets are available for the first time this year, allowing attendees to enjoy food and wine tastings one hour before gates open to the public, a special wine tasting seminar, and access to the premium ticket tent (with snacks and seating) during the festival. Premium tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the gate. *There are a limited number of these tickets available*

Tickets for designated drivers and guests ages 13 to 20 are $5 in advance or $10 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free. You must have a tasting ticket in order to purchase wine by the glass or bottle inside the festival. Valid identification is required.
